GEAR

My Articles and Notes

Top level concern, Gear really doesn't matter. That is to say, what color your backpack is, the cost of your watch, how many mags in a chest carrier and absolutely everything else related to stuff is less important then exercise, skills, practice, organzation and teamwork. 90+% of all of this is polishing the last 1% of your capablities. It doesn't matter if you have level 3 plates or level 4 (or whatever the new numbers are) if you DON'T GET SHOT. Conversely, this is easiest place for people to make monatizable content. There's always money in comparing things, and there's always new things. If you have to fight in a pair of jeans wearing flipflops, magazines shoved in your pockets, wars have been won that way. Everyting I write, post and recommend in this space starts with the caveat that this is the least of our problems, and the easiest to overthink and misunderstand. We cannot "Add to cart" our way to winning. Gear is fun Gear is useful, but make sure you've got food, water, an excape plan, and everything else before you start considering a $1000+ GPS watch that calculates ballistics.

More to Come

YouTube Reccomendations:

Youtube channels that I recommend for their content. I don't cosign their ideologies or backgrounds and this a very white space. It's about the information, take what's useful, leave the bullshit.

  • Black Flag Civilian Ideologically aligned organizational/prep channel
  • The Grunt Perspective Actual US Marine, not everything is relevant to what we need, but it's good info
  • PreparedAirman Another Been-There Done-That, vet with a prepping sideline. Very tuned to high end gear, but there's plenty good there, especiallin in the survival gear and planning stuff.
  • PrepMedic Paramedic/cop veteran. Primary focus is medical stuff. There's useful info , but not everything is relevant.
  • Pack Hacker A little on the bougie side, but they are about packing light and moving fast. This site is more useful then any of the military ones for escape and evasion through society. They tend to avoid cheap things that break and the videos give a good sense of how items are used and constructed.
